FH6 Touge Battles — Hakone & Hokkaido Mountain Pass Guide

Everything we know about touge battles in Forza Horizon 6: regions, format, best cars, rewards. Updated as launch reveals more.

Last updated:

Touge battles — 1-on-1 duels down a mountain pass — are the spiritual centrepiece of FH6's Japan setting. This page tracks confirmed details through the May 19, 2026 launch and is updated within hours of the global unlock with verified routes and rewards.

What is a touge battle?

Two cars, one mountain road. The leader defends; the chaser must close to within a set distance (typically a single car length) by the bottom of the pass. FH6 implements both classic Cat-and-Mouse downhill rules and a Battle Royale-style multi-car uphill format.

Touge regions in FH6

  • Hakone Pass — the main touge zone. Tight hairpins, narrow corridors, guardrails close.
  • Hokkaido Mountain Pass — longer sweeping bends, snow / wet conditions.
  • Festival Touge Sprint — a curated 4-stage event chain in the Festival Playlist.

Best FH6 touge cars

  • Mazda RX-7 FD — the genre default. Light, RWD, predictable on the limit.
  • Toyota AE86 Trueno — the meme pick that actually works in B-class touge.
  • Honda S2000 — high-revving, neutral chassis.
  • Toyota GR Yaris — AWD insurance for Hokkaido snow touge.
  • Nissan Skyline R32 GT-R — for those who want to win, not stylish.

See our FH6 Best S1 Cars page for tuned touge S1 builds.

Touge tuning checklist

  • Front splitter + minimal rear wing — touge punishes drag, not downforce.
  • Soft front anti-roll bar, slightly stiffer rear, for rotation in hairpins.
  • Differential: 60% accel, 30% decel — keeps RWD predictable on throttle.
  • Tires: sport compound (not race) for warm-up speed on mountain temps.

Full setup details in our FH6 Tuning Guide.

Rewards

  • Touge wins: 25,000–80,000 CR depending on length.
  • Touge Master trophy / achievement at Drift level 5 on a touge route.
  • Exclusive cosmetic — Hakone-themed livery pack at full series completion (predicted).
