FH6 Photo Mode Challenges — Locations & Subjects

All FH6 Photo Challenge locations on the Japan map, the photo subject for each, and exactly how to frame the shot so it counts.

Last updated:

FH6 Photo Challenges are the single most consistent CR + Festival Playlist point source per minute of effort. This page tracks every fixed Photo Challenge location, the subject the game wants in frame, and the reward. See the main FH6 Photo Mode Tips page for camera settings, and Photo Mode Settings for slider values.

How Photo Challenges Work

  1. Find a camera icon on the Japan map — yellow = fixed, blue = weekly Festival Playlist.
  2. Drive to the marker. A subject mask appears on screen.
  3. Align the subject inside the mask. Camera position is up to you, framing is forgiving.
  4. Snap. Reward drops in 1–2 seconds.

Reward range: 5,000–10,000 CR + 1 Wheelspin + 5 Festival Playlist points each.

FH6 Photo Subjects (Daily Bonus)

The game cycles a Subject of the Day — snap it once for ~2,500 bonus CR. Subjects rotate from this pool:

  • Car makes: Toyota, Nissan, Mazda, Honda, Subaru, Lamborghini, Ferrari, Porsche, Ford, Chevrolet.
  • Landmarks: Mt. Fuji, Torii gate, Tokyo Tower silhouette, Cherry blossom tree, Hokkaido lighthouse, Hakone hairpin sign.
  • Wildlife: deer, sika deer, crane, koi pond (rare — 2x bonus).
  • Weather: rain, snow, sakura petals, fog (auto-recognised when active).
  • Player gear: convoy of 3+ players, drift mid-slide, jump mid-air.

Weekly Photo Challenges (Festival Playlist)

These rotate every Thursday with the Festival Playlist reset. They reward 5 Series points each, so missing them is the difference between 100% and a frustrating 90%. Patterns we expect based on Playground's FH5 cadence:

  • Photograph a [class] car at [location] — most common.
  • Photograph a car at [time-of-day] in [region] — second most common.
  • Photograph a car during [weather] — Spring sakura, Summer rain, Autumn fog, Winter snow.
  • Convoy photo — requires 2+ players in your convoy; relatively rare.

Hidden Tips

  • The subject mask snaps to whatever is closest to centre — you do not have to fill the mask perfectly.
  • If a challenge will not register, hide the UI first (it sometimes blocks subject detection).
  • Photo Challenges can be completed in rental or borrowed cars.
  • Convoy-based challenges count if you join a friend's convoy momentarily; you do not need to host.

FAQ

How many Photo Challenges are in FH6?

Two recurring Photo Challenges per Weekly Festival Playlist, one per Seasonal series, plus 12 fixed map Photo Challenges spread across the Japan regions — roughly 35–40 per season cycle.

Do Photo Challenges count for the Festival Playlist 100%?

Yes. Each one counts as a series event. Missing them is the most common reason players cap out at 95–98% Playlist completion.

Can you re-do a Photo Challenge for more CR?

Fixed map challenges reward once. Weekly Playlist Photo Challenges reset every Thursday and can be re-claimed for full reward each cycle.

What is a 'Photo Subject' in FH6?

An object the game recognises for a daily Photo Subject bonus — a specific car make, landmark, weather event or animal. Snapping the daily subject grants ~2,500 bonus CR.
